INVENTARISASI SERANGGA Thrips sp. (Thysanoptera) PADA TANAMAN CABAI BESAR, CABAI KERITING, DAN CABAI RAWIT (Capsicum sp.) DI KECAMATAN INDRALAYA UTARA
Chili (Capsicum sp.) is an important agricultural commodity and is widely cultivated in Indonesia. The most widely cultivated chili plant species are cayenne pepper (Capsicum Frustescens L.), large chili (Capsicum annuum var. grossum), paprika (Capsicum Longum L. Sendt.), and curly chili (Capsicum annum var. Longum). Pests that have the potential to reduce chili production in Indonesia are thrips sp. Thrips can act as pests, and vectors of plant viruses. Aims to identify thrips contained in chili plants, namely, large chili, curly chili, and cayenne pepper. The chili plant parts observed were leaves and flowers of healthy chili plants and those that were sick with viruses were in the North Indralaya area. This research was conducted using a purposive sampling method. This research was conducted in 2 stages, namely land determination and sampling of thrips from chili plants. The results showed that there were 3 of Thrips species found in chili plants in North Indralaya District T. parvipinus, T. tabaci, and Liothrips sp. T. parvipinus and T. tabaci were found in chili plants, namely large chilies, curly chilies and cayenne peppers. Liothrips sp. only found in the cayenne pepper plant.
