ANALISIS PENGARUH VARIABEL ALAT SLUICE BOX TERHADAP HASIL PENCUCIAN PASIR TIMAH DALAM SKALA LABORATORIUM
Tin is one of the valuable minerals found in Indonesia and is often found in the form of alluvial deposits with its constituent mineral is cassiterite (SnO2). Toobtain tin deposits, mining activities need to be carried out. Activities before the process in this study got a feed of 55.09%.So it is necessary to do a processing process to increase the levels of Sn so that it has economic value. In this research, to increase the levels of Sn in tin sand, it was carried out by using a sluice box equipment with water as the separation media.The use of this tool is intended so that the tin sand has increased the levels and can qualify the standardization of the smelter. In this research, the analysis of improving the quality of tin sand through the process of using a sluice box equipment with operating variables of water discharge, riffle width and riffle height.The water discharge used are 15 L/minute, 20 L/minute, 25 L/minute. The width of the riffle used are 10 cm, 15 cm, and 20 cm. The riffle height used are 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm. Based on the research conducted, there were 9 experiments that experienced an increase in Sn levels so that they could qualify the smelter industry standards on the sluice box equipment. The highest levels of Sn in this study were found in studies with variations in 20 L/minute water discharge, 10 cm riffle width and 8 mm riffle height, with 69.70% Sn concentration levels and 82.87% recovery value.
