PT Tunas Jaya Perkasa is one of coal mining contractor that operates in Tanah laut district, South Borneo Province, with the coal production target in July 2020 is 60.054 tonne, and the overburden production target is 860.484 BCM. Mining operation was conducted with open pit method on 2 pit which was UCE pit and U210 pit. UCE pit hauling road length is 2053 m with higher elevation changes than U210 pit, while U210 pit hauling roal length is 1736 m with worse road condition than UCE pit. For overburden removal operation PT TJP use a combination of Komatsu PC400 excavator dan Quester CWE370 dump truck. To achieve those production target, fuel gives very large contribution on operating cost. From the fuel usage data in PT TJP the average fuel consumption of Quester CWE 370 in both pit is still over company standard 11 litre/hour which is 11,87 litre/hour. This research is aimed to determine haul road geometry that corespond with safety standard, evaluate the effect of haul road geometry and condition on fuel consumption, to analyze fuel consumption on each haul road, and to find the the proper measure to achieve better production and fuel consumption. From field observation there’s still exist road segment that is not in accordance with KepMen ESDM No 1827 K/30/MEM/2018. Fuel ratio calculation was done using rimpull method. Fuel consumption calculation using actual speed on UCE pit is 10,05 litre/hour and on U210 pit is 11,02 litre/hour with the fuel ratio on UCE pit is 0,400 litre/BCM and on U210 pit is 0,311 litre/BCM. From theoritical calculation the usage of planned UCE road design can reduce the usage of fuel as much as 0,018 litre/BCM and saves Rp 139.777.662 in overburden removal fuel cost during September 2020.
