PENGARUH PRE-HEAT PADA PENGELASAN DISSIMILAR ANTARA BAJA KARBON RENDAH DAN TINGGI MENGGUNAKAN LAS SMAW
The analysis on this study aims to determine the effect of preheating on welding with ASTM A36 and ASTM A6 steel plate materials. Dissimilar steel plate are partially formed in a single-v groove. Then the preheat treatment is given to the specimen before the welding process starts at a temperature of 500 oC. The inspection results on few areas with dye-penetrant showed discontinuities and metallographic to know the impact of heat changes on the specimen, it showed the microstructures such as martensite, ferrite, and pearlite phases. The hardness value in the weld area has a higher value than the HAZ area and the other two welding materials caused by changes in the microstructure in that area. However, the results of dissmilar welding have a lower bending test value rather than other materials without the welding process. The conclusion of this study, the effect of heat treatment given to the area that affects the increase in the distribution value of the hardness of the material
