Background. Complex exstrophy is one of the most severe congenital abnormalities. There is a risk of recurrence of bladder exstrophy in the family. It indicates a complex genetic phenomenon involving many genes. Non-genetic risk factors also appear to have a role in the development of complex exstrophy. Given that complex exstrophy is a significant challenge in pediatric surgery and requires multi-departmental treatment, on the one hand, research on complex exstrophy in Indonesia is scarce. The researchers are interested in examining the characteristics of patients with complex extropy at RSMH.
Methods. Descriptive observational
Results. The neonate age group dominated the age distribution of patients with complex exstrophy (45.5%). The majority of gender variation is male (72.7%). Most patients' birth weight was in the group >2500 grams (54.5%). The gestational age of the majority of patients came from the 32-37 week group (63.6%). There was no family history of suffering complex exstrophy. The patient's maternal age was dominated by the age group of 20-35 years (81.8%). The majority of patients' maternal parity was parity >3 (45.5%). The prevalence of patients' maternal prepregnancy BMI was included in the normal BMI group (63.6%). There was no history of multiple pregnancies and history of taking fertility drugs or antiretroviral therapy in the mother of complex exstrophy patients. It was found that there was a history of exposure to teratogenic agents in the mother of patients with complex exstrophy of 18.2%. The patient's father's age was dominated by the age group >32 years (54.5%). It was found that there was a history of smoking in the father of patients with complex exstrophy of 36.4%.
Conclusion. At RSMH, the age distribution of patients with complex exstrophy is dominated by the neonate age group. The majority gender variation is male. Most patients' birth weight was in the >2500 gram group. The gestational age of the majority of patients came from the 32-37 week group. The patient's maternal age was dominated by the age group of 20-35 years. The maternal parity of the majority of patients is parity >3. The majority of patients' maternal prepregnancy BMI was included in the normal BMI group. It was found that there was a history of exposure to teratogenic agents in the mother of patients with complex exstrophy. The patient's father's age was dominated by the age group >32 years. Found history of smoking in the father of patients with complex exstrophy.
