PENGARUH INTENSITAS DAN LAMA PENYINARAN UV TERHADAP TELUR Corcyra cephalonica (STAINTON) (LEPIDOPTERA: PYRALIDAE), KEMUNCULAN DAN PARASITISASI OLEH Trichogramma Sp. (HYMENOPTERA: TRICHOGRAMMATIDAE)
Laboratory experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of intensities radiation and duration of ultraviolet (UV) used to sterilize eggs of factitious host, Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) on its parasitism by Trichogramma sp. and percentage of the parasitoid emergence. This research was done from September 2002 until March 2003 in Entomological Laboratory of Plant Pest and Disease Department, Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University. The experiments used Randomized Complete Design Factorial with three levels of UV radiation intensities: 10, 15, 20 watt and three levels of duration UV radiation, i.e. 30, 60, 90 minutes of radiation. Thecombinations were replicated 6 times.Result showed that the UV radiation intensities did not affect the hosthatchery, parasitism, and Trichogramma sp. emergence, but the duration of UVradiation significantly affected the host hatchery. The lowest host hatched occurredon 90-minute radiation (4,08%), but not significantly different ffom 30-minuteradiation (6,43%). The host eggs parasitized by Trichogramma sp. was 15,50%. Percentage of Trichogramma emergence was more than 83,38%. The experiment indicated that the suitability UV intensities for the C. cephalonica rearing was 15 watt with 60 minute radiation.
