PREDIKSI EROSI TANAH DI DAERAH HULU ALIRAN SUNGAI KELEKAR KOTA PRABUMULIH SUMATERA SELATAN
The aim of observation is to predict Soil Erosion on Upstream of Kelekar River Prabumulih, South Sumatra. The Soil analysis was measured in the field and in Physical Laboratory and Chemical Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty Sriwijaya University Indralaya Campuss. The research started from September till November 2004. The method used was a survey method using a map of 1 : 100.000 scale. Soil samples were taken from rubber plantation with different age, such as from 2 month to above 25 years old. Soil Erosion was predicted by USLE method, which was based to rainfall, soil physical properties, slope, vegetation, and soil management. The results show that the Soil Erosion of the observed area are mainly low, which the erosion value is 1,6 to 15,0 ton/ha/year, except for 2 month and one year old rubber plantation, where was the predicted soil erosion are 34,8 ton/ha/year and 31,5 ton/ha/year. High predicted erosion on 2 month and one year old rubber plantation, were caused by rarely plant canopy and part of the land was opened (bare). It is suggested to apply soil conservation method on this plantation area.
