Telah dilakukan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif asam lemak tak jenuh omega-6 pada minyak ikan patin dengan menggunakan alat kromatografi gas dan penentuan karakterisasi minyak ikan patin yang meliputi kadar minyak, bilangan asam, bilangan penyabunan dan bilangan peroksida dengan mengikuti metode Badan Standarisasi Nasional. Hasil penelitian terhadap tiga sampel minyak ikan patin dengan berat ± 750 gram diperoleh kadar minyak rata-rata 3,766%, bilangan asam berkisar antara 0,649 - 0,700 mgKOH/gr, bilangan penyabunan berkisar 116,735-186,269 mgKOH/gr dan bilangan peroksida berkisar 2,315-7,738 mek/kg. Kadar omega-6 total yang diperoleh dari minyak ikan patin yaitu berkisar antara 12,278 - 15,961%. Dari kadar omega-6 yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini, minyak ikan patin dapat digunakan sebagai sumber altemative penghasil omega-6. Kata kunci: Minyak ikan patin, omega-6, kromatografi gas.
