Telah dilakukan sintesis nanokomposit Ca-bentonit-CuFe204 secara kopresipitasi menggunakan senyawa CuCl2 dan FeCl3 pada perbandingan CuFe204 : Cabentonit (1:2). Komposit Ca-bentonit-CuFe204 dikarakterisasi menggunakan XRD, SEM-EDS, TEM, VSM dan SAA. Selanjutnya, komposit Ca-bentonitCuFe204 dilakukan uji daya serap terhadap ion logam Ni(II) menggunakan variabel uji berat komposit 0,1; 0,2; 0,3; 0,4; dan 0,5 g, waktu kontak 15, 30, 45, 60 dan 75 menit, dan pH 5, 6, 7, 8, dan 9. Komposit Ca-bentonit-CuFe204 hasil sintesis memiliki luas permukaan 86,89 m2/g, ukuran partikel 5-50 nm dan nilai magnetik 12,78 emu/g. Daya serap terbaik komposit Ca-bentonit-CuFe204 terhadap penyerapan ion logam Ni(II) diperoleh pada berat komposit 0,2 g, waktu kontak 15 menit dan pH 7 dengan efektifitas penyerapan 84,92 %.
