ANALISA PARAMETER PROSES UNTUK SAMBUNGAN DISSIMILAR BAJA KARBON RENDAH DAN STAINLESS STEEL DENGAN METODE TAGUCHI
Industrial advancements in the age of the revolution are accelerating, resulting in a slew of new innovations that can generate high-quality goods. Dissimilar welding technology is one of them. In this study, we used the Taguchi technique to perform dissimilar welding of low carbon steel St 37 and stainless steel 304 using shield metal arc welding (SMAW) connection type and parameters that can affect the value of tensile strength. Filler metal, welding current, seam type, and welding speed are all variables employed in the Taguchi process. Tensile tests, hardness tests, metallographic tests, and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) tests are among the tests performed. There are significant and insignificant factors of the four parameters employed in the connection calculation data. The most important component is the seam type, In the connection calculation data there are significant factors and insignificant factors of the 4 factors used. The most significant factor is found in the seam type with a percentage of 35% and the insignificant factor is found in filler metal with a percentage of 1%. The Vickers hardness test was used, and the greatest hardness value was found for the 304 stainless steel parent metal, which was 280,8736271 N/mm2. The hardness value at the weld area is lower than the hardness value of the 304 stainless steel parent metal, according to the results of the joint hardness calculation. The results of the microstructure in the weld area indicate that at least the ferrite phase and grain boundaries are produced, causing a decrease in the hardness value in the weld area and in the HAZ area on the low carbon steel side, indicating the presence of porosity due to defects in the welding process.
