PENGARUH PEMBERIAN TEKANAN POMPA SECARA BERTAHAP TERHADAP PENURUNAN PADA PERBAIKAN TANAH DENGAN METODE VAKUM KONSOLIDASI
Soil deformation is a concern in infrastructure development, especially in the transportation of highway built on soft soil, both during the construction process and post construction. The vacuum consolidation method has been widely used for soil improvement in several countries, including Sweden, China, Japan, and Europe. The vacuum consolidation method is still unusual in Indonesia, one of which it is being used in the construction of the Palembang-Indralaya highway. This method has the advantage of speeding up the consolidation process because the speed of water and air flow released from the ground is affected by vacuum, and it is more environmentally safe because it does not require pre-load heap soil and does not mix other materials in soft clay soil that is repaired. The researchers compared soil deformation and determined the time efficiency of the vacuum pressure modeling supplied step, that is 5 kPa, 10 kPa, 15 kPa, and 20 kPa with a direct pressure of 20 kPa on soil samples by the Palembang-Indralaya highway. Shear strenght, pore water pressure, and soil settlment are the test indicators being observed. In vacuum test results with a direct pressure of 20 kPa, it takes less than three days to reach 90 % degrees of consolidated, while at a step vacuum pressure, it takes four days to reach 30,7 %
