PENGARUH KEDALAMAN PREFABRICATED VERTICAL DRAIN PADA METODE PERBAIKAN TANAH DENGAN VACUUM CONSOLIDATION METHOD
South Sumatra is one of the areas on the island of Sumatra that has various types of soil. Therefore, to start a construction construction it is necessary to improve the soil. One of the soil improvements used is the vacuum consolidation method. This method was first used in Indonesia, namely in the construction of the Palembang - Indralaya Toll Road. This consolidation vacuum method aims to remove water and air in the soil by using prefabricated vertical drains so that the soil becomes solid. In this study, the effect of prefabricated vertical drainage depth on soil subsidence by vacuum consolidation method is reviewed. The depths used were 50, 70 and 90 cm using a vacuum pump with a pressure of 20 kPa. PVD greatly affects this test because the deeper the PVD is installed, the more air and water will be released. The deeper the prefabricated vertical drain is installed, the faster the time required for this method, and vice versa the more diverse and shorter the prefabricated vertical drain is installed, the longer it will take. In this test it took 60 hours to get a decrease of 46 mm and a degree of consolidation of 95.83% using uniform PVD of 90 cm depth, and it took 78 hours to get a decrease of 41 mm and a degree of consolidation of 85.41% using uniform PVD of 50, 70 and 90 cm.
