art can be used as an expression of human aesthetics and often becomes a reflection of various things, including views of life, ideals, and the realities of life. palembang is currently a big city that has a variety of cultural arts, from that cultural diversity gives birth to forms, types, and patterns of cultural arts. with the increase in these art activities, they often carry out various events, for example in dance activities, requiring a forum that supports these activities by providing a facility that is able to accommodate these activities. by building a dance performance and training center in a densely populated area so that it can become a forum for learning and performing dance arts from both traditional and contemporary dance arts. in designing the dance center itself, it must have facilities ranging from performance, training, and commercial functions, both for food courts and performance venues. because the building has a variety of activities, circulation and flexibility must be maintained in order to run without obstacles. however, in order to achieve flexibility and keep up with the current era, the design that will be used must of course be of particular concern. the application of contemporary architectural styles will be applied in the design of this building. with a style that is trending in the present era and the flexible principles of contemporary architecture, it is felt that the most suitable for the design of this building can answer questions from these design problems.
