OPTIMASI SAMBUNGAN LAS TAK SEJENIS SMAW BAJA KARBON 4340 DAN STAINLESS STEEL 304 DENGAN METODE TAGUCHI
Engineering and repair industrialization is a sign of technical progress. Welding has been one of the initiatives to improve the quality of the product being manufactured. The type of welding method used is SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). The Taguchi technique was used to perform dissimilar welding between AISI 4340 and Stainless Steel 304 with the factors that impact the tensile strength. In the Taguchi technique, welding parameters like as electrodes, welding current, joint type, and welding speed are varied. Hardness tests were performed in addition to tensile testing. The kind of electrode is the most important component in this case, accounting for 29% of the total. The calculation results also show that there is one insignificant factor from the four factors used. This factor is a welding speed variation where the F-count value is less than the F-table value (1.779 3.55). The highest hardness value in stainless steel 304 is 263.4267981 N/mm2. At the current type of 110 A and the electrode used is E309, the results of the Vikers calculation show that the hardness value of the weld metal is smaller than the base metal SS 304. Confirmation experimental results produce an average tensile strength of 302,959 MPa
