the city government of palembang has a desire to promote tourism by elevating the character, tradition and available landscape by providing lodging facilities for tourists in the form of hotels. for this reason, the hotel design in this final project raises the theme of the river bank heritage of palembang city, by designing a hotel building that has a thematic design, namely a boutique hotel. the mass arrangement of the hotel in the site will later preserve the architecture of the historical building to be used as a new function and there will be a new mass that is aligned with the existence of the historical building. the main orientation of the building is towards the river bank by opening access for the public towards the open space of the river bank and the view of the multipurpose building and the main residence towards the river bank. the building design concept uses three architectural styles adapted from the river bank historical area buildings, namely, colonial, pyramid house, and chinatown. the architectural amalgamation of the area is applied in the form of the use of roofs, facades, details, building ornaments and so on. the design of the façade of the building using proportions adapted from the surrounding buildings, and the elements of the greek-style openings and pillars used in this boutique hotel are characteristic of colonial architecture. the use of a shop house-style roof in the main building with a sharp slope is an implementation of chinatown architecture. some building masses such as the receiving building use traditional palembang architecture, namely the use of limasan roofs. the historic building structure is maintained and combined with the new building structure.
