This study was aimed at finding out the influence of the government expenditure and govemment grants on the economic growth in all districts/cities in South Sumatera Province in 2008-2012. The dependent variable was the economic growth. The independent variables were the govemment expenditure and govemment grants. The data were the time series secondary pooled ones taken based on cross section observations. The data were processed using Random Effect through E-views 6.0 Program. This study showed that the govemment expenditure had significant and positive influence on the economic growth by 0.31 of coefficient value which implies that 1 % increase in government expenditure was a 0.31% increase in economic growth. The govemment grants also had significant and positive influence on the economic growth by 1.04 of coefficient which implies that 1 % increase in the government grants was a 1.04 % increase in economic growth.
