PENGARUH VARIASI JUMLAH METANOL DAN TEMPERATUR TERHADAP KARAKTERISASI BIODIESEL DARI MINYAK BIJI KETAPANG (Taminalia catappa Linn) MENGGUNAKAN KATALIS KOH
The research has been done on the effect Of Variation Of Methanol Amount And Temperature On The Biodiesel Characterization Of Ketapang Seed Oil (Terminalia Catappa Linn) Using KOH Catalyst . Variable (oil : methanol) was 50:50, 60:40, 70:30, 80:20, 90:10 at temperature 40°C, 60°C, 80°C. The resulted biodiesel than were tested including parameters of density, flash point, cetane index, viscosity kinematic, carbon residue, sediment content, and water content. Biodiesel showed that the variation of ketapang seed oils and methanol amount of 80:20 at a temperature of 60°C produced optimum rendemen is 84.6 % with characteristic a viscosity kinematic of 4.60 cSt, density of 0.8743g/cm3, flash point of 138°F, cetane index of 48,09, carbon residue of 0.1 % wt, the content of sediment 1,3 % wt, and water content of 0.0008% volume.
