The city of Palembang as the capital of South Sumatra has problems with traffic congestion like any other big cities, thus the Light Rapid Transit (LRT Sumsel) was built as a solution to these problems. However, the lack of inter-modal integration affects people's interest in using public transportation. This inter-modal terminal tries to answer these problems through a layering system approach that focuses on vertical zoning separation, to provide comfort for passengers in changing modes of transportation. The location of the site in which located in the Central Business District (CBD) area adds up to the challenge for the terminal so that it can also accommodate the commercial functions.
