DESAIN PROTOTIPE TURBIN PLTMH JENIS TURBIN PELTON DENGAN VARIASI JUMLAH SUDU
The number of requests for electricity has increased which goes hand in hand with increasingly advanced technological advances and the human population that continues to grow every year resulting in an increase in the amount of demand for electricity in every sector of human life. However, the fuel needed to produce electrical energy still uses fossil energy which is increasingly limited in nature and produces emissions that are very unfriendly to the environment. For this reason, resources are needed that can replace the main role of fossil energy as fuel from power plants, namely micro-hydro power plants (MHP) which require relatively little water energy in nature. In this study the authors designed and made a prototype design of the MHP using a Pelton type turbine by varying the number of buckets on the turbine. This test uses a variation of blades 14, 16 and 18 by using a load in the form of a 3 watt LED lamp. In the no-load test, the highest voltage is produced by an 18 buckets turbine with a value of 14.1 volts and the lowest voltage is produced by a 14 buckets turbine with a value of 11.5 volts. And in testing using a load, the highest power is produced by an 18 buckets turbine with a value of 1.9075 watts and the lowest power is produced by a 14 buckets turbine with a value of 1.3898 watts. The highest rotational speed was obtained with an 18 buckets turbine with a value of 5886.6 Rpm and the lowest rotation speed was obtained with a 14 buckets turbine with a value of 1887.7 Rpm. This is because the water fired towards the turbine with 18 spoons will more quickly undergo a water impact transition to each spoon compared to the other spoon variation.
