OPTIMALISASI KINERJA WILLOBI SKALA LABORATORIUM PADA PENGOLAHAN PASIR TIMAH UNTUK MEMENUHI KEBUTUHAN INDUSTRI SMELTER
Tin sand must meet the standard requirements, namely with a Sn content of 72% - 74% to meet the needs of the smelter industry. The results of tin sand mining on land and sea produce low grade tin sand, namely 20% - 30%. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the content of tin sand from mining to meet the standard requirements of the smelter industry with processing. Willobi is one of the mineral processing tools used to increase the content of a material with the principle of gravity concentration. Optimal willobi operation is required to obtain appropriate grades with high recovery values. Previously, the Sn content in the feed was analyzed using the grain counting analysis method. In this study, experiments were carried out on the flow rate and cross-sectional area of the willobi by varying the discharge five times, namely, 20 L/min, 25 L/min, 30 L/min, 35 L/min, and 40 L/min. cross-sectional area three times, namely, 400 cm2, 625 cm2, and 900 cm2 to get the most optimal condition of the Willobi tool. Furthermore, the results of the processing carried out a content analysis to determine the increase in Sn levels in each experiment. From the results of the analysis, the most optimal results were obtained on willobi with a cross-sectional area of 625 cm2 with 60 L/min flowing water.
