APLIKASI KAPUR CANGKANG KIJING (Pilsbryoconcha exilis) PADA TANAH GAMBUT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN pH MEDIA PEMELIHARAAN IKAN PATIN (Pangasius sp.)
The application of mussel shell lime has been studied to increase the pH of water and soil in catfish rearing ponds. Soil organic matter content can affect the process of increasing the pH value and the dose of lime given. The purpose of this study was to determine the best dose of mussel shell lime applied to organic soil at the bottom of the pond, in increasing pH and its effect on the survival and growth of catfish seeds. This research has been conducted from July to September 2019 at the Laboratory of Aquaculture Experimental Pond, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications. The treatment given was the difference in the doses of mussel shell lime of 7.000 kg ha-1 equivalent to CaO (P1), 9.000 kg ha-1 equivalent to CaO (P2), 11.000 kg ha-1 equivalent to CaO (P3) and 13.000 kg ha-1 equivalent to CaO (P4). The results of this study indicate that the best dose of mussel shell lime applied to organic soil at the bottom of the pond is 13.000 kg ha-1 equivalent to CaO (P4) which can increase swamp water pH from 2.65 to 7.11 and soil pH from 2.65 to 6.98 and resulted in 100% survival, 5.3 cm absolute length growth, 9.39 g absolute weight growth, and 94.09% feed efficiency.
