ANALISIS FAKTOR RISIKO POSTOPERATIVE NAUSEA AND VOMITING PADA PASIEN YANG MENJALANI OPERASI DENGAN ANESTESI UMUM (Studi Potong Lintang di RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Periode Oktober-November 2020)
Both general and regional anesthesia can cause post-operative complications. One of the most common complications is post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV). The prevalence of PONV is around 20-30% and increases to 70-80% in high-risk patients. There are various risk factors for PONV, but not all risk factors show the same effect in different populations. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for PONV in patients undergoing surgery with general anesthesia at dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in October-November 2020. This study used a cross-sectional observational analytic design. The study sample was patients who underwent surgery with general anesthesia who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a total sample of 97 people. Data were collected using questionnaires and data processing was carried out with the Chi-square test and the Logistic Regression test using the SPSS. The results of this study showed that there was a significant relationship between age (p=0.005), gender (p=0.000), smoking history (p=0.000), type of surgery (p=0.017), duration of operation (p=0.000), and intra-operative opioid dose (p=0.000). The risk factor that most influenced PONV was the duration of surgery (p=0.000, PR = 1.967). Intra-operative opioid dose is the most influencing factor for the occurrence of PONV in patients undergoing surgery under general anesthesia.
