Typhoid fever is an acute systemic infectious disease caused by Salmonella typhi which is transmitted via fecal and oral routes and is treated with antibiotics. The purpose of this study was to determine patient characteristics, patterns of antibiotic use and the DDD/100 patient-days value of typhoid fever pediatric patients at Dr.H.Moh Rabain Muara Enim General Hospital. This research is a descriptive study conducted retrospectively using medical record data of inpatient children with typhoid fever at Dr.H.Moh Rabain Muara Enim General Hospital. The samples obtained were 38 medical records which were then analyzed using the ATC/DDD method. The results showed that the patient criteria based on gender were 50% female and 50% male. Based on the age criteria, typhoid fever patients mostly occur in children aged 7 years by 24%. The profile of drug use that is widely prescribed is ceftriaxone at 87%. It can be concluded that the evaluation of the use of antibiotics in pediatric typhoid fever patients obtained a DDD/100 patient days of hospitalization of 73.42 DDD/100 patient-days with the highest antibiotic ceftriaxone of 66.13 DDD/100 patient-days.
