PENGARUH SUBSITUSI RESIDIUM CATALYTIC CRACKING DAN KAPUR TERHADAP NILAI KUAT GESER TANAH PADA TANAH EKSPANSIF
The expansive soil have special characteristic that have potential of shrink - swell quite high in case of change of water contenl. Therefore, one way to overcome the unstable behavior of the soil is with soil stabilization methods. This study used chemistry stabilization of lime and RCC which is a waste of petroleum cracking process producted by PT. Pertamina Plaju Palembang. This research commited to determine the effect of substituting Residium Catalytic Cracking (RCC) and lime shear strength of expansive soil through triaxial testing UU. The stabilized expansive soil samples taken from Tanjung Api-api km.27 Palembang. The stabilizing agent will be subsituted in expansive soil with each composition of RCC and lime variation were 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6% of the weight of the soil with a treatment period of 0 days, 7 days and 14 days. The results of the native soil testing showed that the native soil is expansive clay soil. Where as the results of triaxial test of soil mix RCC and Lime, mixture of RCC and lime variation have increase cohesion value, the value of friction angle, soil shear strength when compared with native soil and conditions without mixture. The maximum shear strength variation occurs in 4% RCC and 6% lime with 0 day treatment period, is 2.426 kg/cm2.
