PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN EBI DALAM CUKA PEMPEK TERHADAP TERJADINYA EROSI GIGI
Tooih erosion is a local tooth damage that has pathological characteristic, caused by the Chemical process ofacid without the involvment ofbacteria activities. Cuka pempek is known to cause tooth erosion. Researches about tooth cuka pempek and tooth erosion has once been commenced. Raharjo (1993) in his study revealed that the addition ofbrown sugar, onion, and ebi (dried shrimps) in cuka pempek can increase the amount of calcium, phosphale, andfluor. The increase of amount of phosphate and fluor is not followed by the decrease of tooth erosion because in reality the acidity of cuka pempek is the one playing the main role in the cause of tooth erosion. This research is aimed to know the influence of adding ebi in cuka pempek in the tooth erosion. The method used in this research was laboratory experiment using thirty maxillary canines which was randomly divided into three groups. The first group was immersed in cuka pempek and synthetic saliva solution (pH ± 4.4), the second group was immersed in cuka pempek solution (pH ± 4.3), and the third group was immersed in cuka pempek solution with ebi addition. The measurement of these three groups was done in 0 day, 1 day, 3 days, and 5 days using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The data acquired from the measurement was analyzed with one way anova and then continued with Post-Hoc Bonferroni. Within the group of immersed tooth in cuka pempek solution with ebi additioning it has been attained the result ofcalcium decrease of 139,287 ppm in 5 days immersion. From the study that has been done it could be concluded that the addition of5% ebi in cuka pempek could decrease the risk oftooth erosion as much as 35,43%.
