VARIASI PEMOTONGAN BAGIAN BAWAH STEK DAN PENYERTAAN JUMLAH DAUN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN GINSENG JAWA (Talinum paniculatum)
avanese ginseng (Talinum paniculatum) is a crop that can be used as medicine, as well as vegetable and ornamental plant. As medicine, the roots of Javanese ginseng are used to cure various diseases, maintain health and as a stamina restorer leaves are consumed as vegetables. The purpose of this research is to compare variation of basal stem cuttings and attached number of leaves on growth and yield of Javanese ginseng crop (Talinum paniculatum). This research was conducted from June 2021 to August 2021 at the off-campus reasearch facility located in Jakabaring, Palembang, South Sumatra. This research used a Factorial Randomized Block Design using 2 factors. First factors were variation of basal stem cuttings (V) which consists of V1 (horizontal cutting) and V2 (45º angle cutting). The second factor were attacthing number of leaves (D) which consists of D1 (without leaves), D2 (5 leaves) and D3 (10 leaves). The results showed that variations of basal stem cuttings had no significant effect on the variables of the number of branches, number of leaves, kanopi area, primary branch length (except at 14 DAP), leaf greenness and plant height. The attaching number of leaves D3 (10 leaves) had the highest mean on the variables number of branches, number of leaves, leaf greenness, fresh weight of branches, fresh weight of crown, fresh weight of leaves, dry weight of leaves, root length, fresh weight of roots, dry weight of roots, number of primary additional branches, number of additional branches on the trunk, fresh weight of rhizomes and dry weight of rhizomes.
