SINTESIS NANOMAGNETIK NIFE2O4-SIO2-ZNO UNTUK DEGRADASI FOTOKATALITIK ZAT WARNA CONGO RED
This study aims to synthesize a nanomagnetic composite of NiFe2O4-SiO2-ZnO and to characterize it using VSM, XRD, SEM-EDS and DRS as well as to evaluate the degradation ability of NiFe2O4-SiO2-ZnO composites against Congo red dye in various pH, dye concentration, and contact time through degradation percent value. XRD characterization results showed the highest intensity at 2θ angle of 36,24o with a crystallite size of 34.84 nm. SEM-EDS image shows are round, porous and irregular with the composition of the constituent elements of Ni (9,17%), Fe (19,38%), O (36,13%), Si (2,93%) and Zn (20,23%). According to VSM result saturation magnetization value of the NiFe2O4-SiO2-ZnO composite was 18.31 emu/g. According UV-VIS Diffuse Reflectance characterization show that the NiFe2O4-SiO2-ZnO energy gap was 1.51 eV. Degradation carried out with the help of UV light 15 watts and absorbance measurements to determine the concentration of the remaining congo red dye using a visible spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 498 nm. The optimum condition for degradation of Congo red dye was at a concentration of 20 ppm with a pH was 5 and an irradiation time was 5 hours. The efficiency of degradation at the optimum condition of degradation of Congo red dye using NiFe2O4-SiO2-ZnO was 61,99%.
